Harry BosThe research of Harry Bos focuses on the framing created by politics and media around people in detention - also called ‘criminals’. Harry brings the media-image into a relation with his own image, which he constructed through working in the judicial field.
As a social profession who held responsibility for the care and the proper and safe reintegration of TBS-patients, Harry often came into contact with the frames that are constructed by the media, and are supported by politicins and scientists, but which bore little resemblance to the factual situations they represented. It is mostly sentiment which influences these frames.
Framing happens constantly, as now with the influx of refugees in Europe and the differences of opinion this produces. Also around former detainees and TBS-patients strong opposite opinions based on sentiments govern the debate.
